2020: PETRA III - Research towards sustainability
A better and more sustainable future is the goal of most scientists who perform work at PETRA III. Eighty percent of the published research articles show that their research contribute to societally relevant topics. How we solve the most urgent questions about our future is one of the big challenges of our time.
New materials and active ingredients play an important role in solving these issues. They must be smarter and better performing as today's materials. Future technological developments use sunlight efficiently, produce green fuels from splitting water molecules or recycling carbon dioxide, and are the basis of a CO2-friendly energy production.
